A decade on from the Civil War and fully immersed in Franco’s regime, the small, sleepy town of Ribanova finds itself embroiled in mystery and scandal after the dead body of a beautiful young woman is discovered in the Hotel Almirante. The investigation into what at first appears to be a suicide soon takes a much more sinister turn, when a note blaming Javier Aldao for the girl’s death appears.
